Reporting Admissions Examinations

Reporting ACT/SAT Results

Students applying for undergraduate admission as freshmen must submit scores on either the ACT Assessment plus Writing or the SAT Reasoning Test. SAT Subject Test scores are no longer required but will be considered and may be recommended for specific majors on some campuses. new windowInformation on campus SAT Subject recommendations may be found here.

The tests must be taken no later than December of the last year of secondary school. A more complete list of dates and deadlines is available here.

Direct the testing agencies to report your scores to at least one of the UC campuses to which you plan to apply. If you apply as a freshman for the spring or winter term, check with the campus Admissions Office about relevant testing deadlines.

Reporting TOEFL or IELTS Results

If your native language is not English, you must take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination (academic modules) and arrange to have your scores reported to the Undergraduate Admissions Office at each campus to which you apply. You should take the test as early as possible. If you are applying for the fall term, the Admissions Offices must receive your test results from the testing agency no later than January.
